We are excited to invite you to explore our capsule space, "Home Bar by OZA Design," at WOW!house 2024.

Our aim was to tell a deeply personal and emotional story through a strong design concept, transporting you to a place where West meets East, mirroring the personal stories of our co-founders. Historically, the Silk Road served as the main conduit connecting these two worlds, with saffron being one of the primary spices traded. Inspired by this, we crafted bespoke colors for the walls using saffron pigments and engaged a remarkable artist to apply textured clay, mimicking the feel of saffron spice—soft and delicate to the touch.

Central to our design is a cracked board symbolizing the Bosphorus in Istanbul, where our founders, Özge and Alexandre, first met. This city, bridging Europe and Asia, is represented by butterflies on the boards, symbolizing the bridges that connect these continents. The unique, bespoke pattern of the timber flooring draws your eye from the center of the room, through the curves of clay on the floor, and up to the ceiling.

Our curtain fabrics, a mix of jute and cotton, evoke the tents used during journeys along the Silk Road. The curtain tassels add a soft, oriental touch, while the combination of masculine, rigid lines and soft curves offers a modern twist on Western design, creating a harmonious contrast with an oriental flair.

We strive to create a space that embodies sophistication and cultural appreciation, honoring the rich heritage of our ancestors through traditional materials and craftsmanship.

We collaborated with exceptional craftsmen, artisans, and artists to bring this capsule room to life. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our collaborators for their expertise and dedication. Now, it’s time to enjoy and celebrate the culmination of our hard work together.
